Display Window at Blasco Library, Downtown, Erie, PA
The Blasco Library at 160 East Front St. in downtown Erie, PA has a large display window between the main lobby and the Children's area
which has displays
of different interest each month. For the month of July, we, the Gem City Rock & Mineral Society, have had the space, and many club
members contributed items to put in the window. Since the space is 28 feet long, that takes some doing to fill it up! Our main theme
this time is "Rainbows of Rocks", and the first part of the display has a rainbow of rocks, minerals, and gems, in all the colors
in the rainbow, and many colors that aren't! The remaider of the space is broken into three other areas -- Fossil Collecting, Lapidary,
and a space for the Pebble Pups showing the fossils they collected on their feild trip and some of the crystals they grew in their first
real activity. You may recall that we had a display there in 2005, and parts of that display were
recycled for parts of this display, but people were very helpful with contributing things to fill the Rainbow area
with new items.
Since the window is 28 feet wide, you couldn't really get it all in one photo and really see anything --
