Trip to collect Fossils in Road Cut

The last weekend in April 2002, several club members made the journey to a road cut along the Clarion River to look for fossils in the shale. If anyone remembers more specific info on the location, please email the Webmaster at gemcity@treebeard.net so I can add it.

The Site Here we are at the road cut.
Pointing Out a Keystone Bear points out a keystone -- a piece of rock that holds up / holds together other sections of rock. You don't pull this one out unless you're prepared to have the surrounding stuff come down with it.
Leaf Cast Leaf imprint.
Possible Fishscale Cast Possible fish scales.
Bark Cast Partial tree limb cast -- bark texture.
